The Oakland Raiders officially waived running back Trent Richardson among their moves to reduce their roster to the league-mandated 75 players Tuesday.

Also waived were wide receivers Josh Harper, Kenbrell Thompkins and Milton Williams III, quarterback Cody Fajardo, punter Steven Clark, cornerback Rob Daniel and guard Lamar Mady.

Defensive backs James Dockery and Ras-I Dowling and return man Trindon Holliday were released, while safety Jimmy Hall was waived/injured and third-year offensive tackle Menelik Watson was placed on injured reserve.

Richardson, 25, had a disappointing rookie season with the Cleveland Browns after being selected with the third overall pick in 2012, and he was then traded to the Indianapolis Colts for a first-round pick during the 2013 season.

He averaged just 2.9 yards per rushing attempt in 14 games for the Colts in 2013, and he rushed for 519 yards and a 3.3 average in 15 games for the Colts last season.

Richardson clashed with Colts leadership and was cut in the offseason. The Raiders signed him to a contract that included $600,000 in guaranteed money, but he did little in the preseason.

Thompkins caught 15 passes for 209 yards in 12 games (six starts) last season after being acquired from the New England Patriots.

Watson was battling for the right tackle job before suffering a ruptured Achilles tendon against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

After the injury, Watson tweeted: “Ruptured Achilles tendon… I will be back stronger than ever that’s a promise. Main thing is supporting the team right now.”
