The Washington Redskins placed linebacker Junior Galette on injured reserve Monday and released 13 players.

The moves took the Redskins to the 75-player limit ahead of Tuesday’s deadline.

The players they waived: tight ends Ernst Brun Jr., Chase Dixon and Devin Mahina; linebackers Dyshawn Davis and Alonzo Highsmith; cornerbacks Tajh Hasson, DreQuan Hoskey and Trey Wolfe; wide receiver Tony Jones (injured); kicker Ty Long and guard Bryce Quigley.

The Redskins also terminated the contracts of cornerback Bryan McCann and offensive tackle Willie Smith.

Galette, who had signed with the team on July 31 after being released by the New Orleans Saints, is out for the season with a torn left Achilles suffered last week in practice.
