The Seattle Seahawks released linebacker Dakorey Johnson and defensive tackle Jimmy Staten on Monday and signed defensive backs Jeremy Crayton and Keelan Johnson.

The Seahawks have been decimated in the secondary. Pro Bowl safety Kam Chancellor is holding out, and All-Pro safety Earl Thomas (shoulder) and cornerbacks Jeremy Lane (ACL, wrist) and Tharold Simon (shoulder) are all recovering from surgeries. Simon came off the physically-unable-to-perform list Monday.

The Seahawks also played without All-Pro corner Richard Sherman (hip) in a 22-20 loss to the Denver Broncos last Friday. Cornerback Will Blackmon also sat out that game, and Mohammed Seisay and Douglas McNeil left with injuries.

Crayton was in Seattle’s rookie minicamp in May. Keelan Johnson has spent time with the Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys since coming into the NFL undrafted in 2013.

Staten was a fifth-round pick of the Seahawks in 2014.
