Cowboys activate RB McFadden
The Sports Xchange
Dallas Cowboys running back Darren McFadden was placed on the active roster Saturday after missing the team’s first 11 practices in training camp with a hamstring injury.
McFadden was moved from the physically unable to perform list and said he’s ready to fully participate in on-field work. He suffered his latest hamstring injury a week before training camp.
The injury-prone McFadden also missed several offseason practices because of another hamstring injury.
“It’s very hard. I’m the type of guy who wants to be out there with my teammates and seeing how they grind the way they do, I want to be out there and be a part of that,” McFadden told The Dallas Morning News. “I’m happy to be back out there on the field and I’m just looking forward to getting out there and just being better every day.”
The former Oakland Raiders running back is expected to compete with Joseph Randle for playing time. McFadden signed a two-year, $3 million contract with the Cowboys in March.
“I’ve been on top of my playbook, I’ve been up to par on everything, so it’s just a matter of getting back out there and getting my feet back up under me good,” McFadden said.
