Dolphins sign running back, safety
The Sports Xchange
Three days before their first preseason game, the Miami Dolphins made four roster moves Monday.
Miami signed two free agents, running back Demitrius Bronson and safety Phillip Thomas. The Dolphins also waived/injured safety Shamiel Gary and waived wide receiver Tyler McDonald.
Bronson was waived by the Seahawks in late July after spending part of the 2014 season on Seattle’s practice squad. He played college ball for both the University of Washington and Eastern Washington before signing with Seattle as an undrafted free agent in June 2014.
Thomas was waived by the Washington Redskins last week. He appeared in eight games for the Redskins late last year, registering 26 tackles and one fumble recovery. A fourth-round pick by Washington in 2013, he spent the 2013 season on injured reserve, then began last year on the Redskins’ practice squad.
Gary spent time on the Chicago Bears’ practice squad last year. He signed with the Dolphins in January.
McDonald was with the New England Patriots for a stretch in July 2014, and he signed with Miami in January.
