Falcons sign RB Ford and TE Tialavea

The Atlanta Falcons signed running back Michael Ford and tight end DJ Tialavea on Friday.

They also waived tight end Beau Gardner and wide receiver Freddie Martino.

Ford, undrafted out of LSU in 2013, spent his rookie season with the Chicago Bears. He was released last August and had signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League in June.

Tialavea entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent last year. He signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars initially and also spent time on the Buffalo Bills’ practice squad.

Gardner, who was waived with an injury, had signed with the Falcons after being undrafted this year out of Northern Arizona.

Martino had signed with the Falcons as a rookie free agent last year.
