With Wednesday’s deadline for a long-term contract approaching, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant demanded action from executive vice president Stephen Jones.

According to ESPN’s Ed Werder, Bryant called Jones last week to tell the Cowboys that he will not report to training camp and sit out regular-season games without a new contract by Wednesday, the NFL’s deadline for franchise players to sign long-term deals.

The report said negotiations are not active, with only one meeting between the Cowboys and Bryant’s representatives.

Bryant’s one-year franchise designation pays him $12.8 million for 2015.

Bryant led the NFL with 16 touchdown receptions and is seeking a deal worth more than $100 million over seven or eight years, in line with the contracts of the league’s highest-paid receivers, Detroit Lions’ star Calvin Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald of the Arizona Cardinals.

Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas, Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Justin Houston and New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul are facing the same Wednesday deadline to sign a new contract.
