The Seattle Seahawks have promoted five members of their personnel department, the team announced Thursday.

Scott Fitterer and Trent Kirchner will be co-directors of player personnel, directing the college scouting department and pro personnel. Fitterer was Seattle’s director of college scouting from 2011 to 2014.

Kirchner, who was director of pro personnel in 2013-14, interviewed for the New York Jets’ general manager position late last season at the same time the Jets talked with assistant coaches Dan Quinn and Tom Cable in Seattle.

The Seahawks replaced Kirchner with Dan Morgan, who spent the last two seasons as assistant director of pro personnel. Fitterer’s role will be filled by Matt Berry, who has been a scout for the Seahawks since 2008.

Ed Dodds, who also has been with the Seahawks since 2008, was promoted to senior personnel executive and will help evaluate both college and pro talent.
