Titans sign second-round WR Green-Beckham

The Tennessee Titans signed wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham on Monday.

The Titans drafted Green-Beckham at No. 40 overall even though he sat out the 2014 season after transferring to Oklahoma.

Missouri kicked him off the team after two drug arrests and an allegation of assaulting a woman.

After the draft, Green-Beckham said he is the best rookie wide receiver and would have been a top pick had he not had the off-field problems at Missouri.

“I feel I’m the best receiver in this draft,” he said. “I know my off-field issues have caused me to drop out of the first round, but I’m just blessed to have this opportunity right now to play for the Titans. I feel like I’m gonna make an elite impact coming in and I feel like I’m gonna score a lot of touchdowns. I’m shooting for at least 10 or more.”

Green-Beckham will compete with veterans Harry Douglas and Hakeem Nicks and 2013 second-round pick Justin Hunter for playing time alongside 2012 first-rounder Kendall Wright.

The Titans have two unsigned draft picks: Quarterback Marcus Mariota, the second pick of the draft, and third-round tackle Jeremiah Poutasi.
