RGIII Excited for ’15 Season

Published

Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III says his increased familiarity with Jay Gruden and the second year head coach’s offense should pay dividends this season.

“The more familiarity you can have with the coaches, the system, the better,” Griffin said. “You see the Tom Bradys, the Aaron Rodgers, the Peyton Mannings of this league, [they’ve had] the same coaches, the same system and they can grow within that system—and that’s what we’re looking to build. We definitely feel that that’s something we want to do, obviously, because we want to be successful for a long time.”

Griffin made his comments prior to participating in the Ryan Kerrigan Leukemia Golf Classic at the Lansdowne Resort on Monday afternoon. The course is just a short drive from Redskins Park, where offseason activities are beginning to ramp up.

“Everybody feels good this time of year, getting back it’s like the first couple of days of school,” Griffin said. “You see all your friends again, get a chance work with the guys, the new guys now and rookies that are in, trying to build a championship team.”
