Raiders add six, waive six after minicamp

The Oakland Raiders on Monday signed six undrafted free agents who had tried out at the rookie minicamp last weekend, and they waived six others to make room on the 90-man roster.

Joining the team were Louisiana Tech guard Mitch Bell, Washington cornerback Travell Dixon, Louisville running back Michael Dyer, New Mexico cornerback SaQwan Edwards, Furman defensive end Gary Wilkins and Emporia State wide receiver Austin Willis.

Waived were Baylor cornerback Chance Casey, Cumberlands running back Terrance Cobb, Stephen F. Austin running back Gus Johnson, Lane defensive back Vernon Kearney, Arkansas linebacker Braylon Mitchell and Michigan wide receiver Jeremy Gallon.

Bell played two years at Louisiana Tech, where he was an All-Conference USA selection.

Dixon played in 16 games over two years at Washington after transferring from Eastern Arizona College.

Dyer rushed for 3,039 yards and 22 touchdowns during his college career, which included two years each at Auburn and Louisville.

Edwards played in 31 games at New Mexico, recording 65 tackles, three interceptions and 19 passes defensed.

Wilkins played in 47 games (40 starts) at Furman, recording 294 tackles, 15.5 sacks, two interceptions, five forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

Willis caught 127 passes for 2,002 yards and 18 scores in four seasons at Emporia State.
