Report: Eagles rescind tender to RB Polk

The Philadelphia Eagles, who signed running backs DeMarco Murray and Ryan Mathews last month, reportedly rescinded their contract tender to restricted free agent Chris Polk on Friday.

Polk, 25, is now free to sign with any team, according to Geoff Mosher of CSNPhilly.com.

Polk rushed for 172 yards and four touchdowns in a reserve role behind LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles last season.

The Eagles traded McCoy to the Buffalo Bills in March and tendered Polk an offer for $1.54 million, which gave them the right to match any offer sheet the former undrafted free agent might have signed with another team. The deadline for offer sheets was Friday.

With Murray and Mathews both arriving and Sproles still on the team, Polk sat fourth on the depth chart. He had not signed the tender and also did not report to offseason workouts this week.

In three years with the Eagles, Polk ran for 270 yards and seven touchdowns.
