Source: Dallas Cowboys Will Have Tevin Coleman In For A Visit

Tevin Coleman could be a day-two steal like Le’Veon Bell and Eddie Lacy

Per an NFL source, former Indiana Hoosiers running back Tevin Coleman will be making visits to both the Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Falcons.

With 22 NFL teams on hand at the Indiana Pro Day, Coleman ran low 4.4s (40-yard dash) and a couple of high 4.3s according to a source. Coleman (6-foot, 210 pounds) has the physical prowess to finish his runs and the deceptive speed to explode through a hole and go all the way if he hits a seam cleanly. He can catch the football cleanly and possesses the strength to pass protect on third-down. He amassed 2,026 yards and 15 touchdowns in his final season at Indiana.

The last running back drafted in the first round from Indiana was Vaughn Dunbar, selected 21st overall by the New Orleans Saints in 1992. While Coleman likely won’t be drafted in the first round, I feel comfortable saying he’ll be a better and more productive pro running back than Dunbar and a lock to hear his named called in second round of the 2015 NFL Draft.

The Cowboys lost the NFL’s leading rusher from last season, DeMarco Murray, to the Philadelphia Eagles via free agency. Dallas signed Darren McFadden to add depth, but make no mistake about it, the Cowboys will look to add another youthful and productive option via the draft. Coleman spent his final season at Indiana as the lone offensive weapon. Imagine the production he is capable of if he is surrounding by the offensive talent the Cowboys currently possess on their roster.

In Atlanta, people might have forgotten that the Falcons were at their best when Michael Turner was churning out 1,000 yard rushing seasons. Turner spent six years in Atlanta amassing 6,081 yards and 60 rushing touchdowns. Since his departure in 2012 the Falcons have been missing the luxury of handing off to a workhorse to take pressure off quarterback Matt Ryan.
